Tuition is on a small group basis (a maximum of five students per teacher) for Year 11s and under. Your child would attend for one hour each week at an appointed lesson day and time.
Students attend on a paired or individual basis for one hour per week but are not able to catch-up lessons as detailed for Years 2-11.
Mature students are welcome to contact us so that we can discuss your requirements. Mature students are taught by Mark on an individual basis.
Students can enrol throughout the year. Enrolment is free of charge.
Students enrol for tuition for our tuition year. That is from the date of enrolling until the third week in July when we close for the summer. Payment for tuition is initially by debit card whilst a Standing Order Mandate is set up. Year 11 students, however, finish tuition just before their final GCSE exam.
We have a card game which is used to teach children their times tables and division. This game is played at home as well as in the Maths Centre. It is intended for Years 2-8 but if requested cards can be given to students Year 9 and over.
Although times tables are taught in junior school it is particularly helpful to know your tables in secondary school - topics such as fractions, ratio, area, volume and algebra all require the use of times tables.
Being fluent in your times tables builds confidence!
Our secondary school students are able to use our UNIQUE revision card system. This is a system which has been devised by us and benefits our students when it comes to revising for exams.
It can be particularly difficult to revise for maths. With our help this can become easier.
Each student receives a text book (or two), exercise book, pen, pencil, ruler and a Maths Centre bag to keep all their Maths Centre work in.
If your child is hoping to sit the entrance exams for schools such as Merchant Taylors, St. Mary's and Bluecoat then we can help with these.
